Chet Cessford

Chet grew up in a small military town in northern Nevada, hanging around his great Aunts Barber shop. That's where he found his passion for doing hair. He moved to Las Vegas and took a job as a mechanic, he found that everyone was always asking him to cut their hair after hours when the shop closed. So that set a clear path for a career change and to chase his passion for hair. Chet attended Paul Mitchell the School Las Vegas, after graduating he went and worked at The Kelly Cardenas Salon, one of the top Paul Mitchell salons in the country. There he got the opportunity to work on stage at different hair shows around the country, as well as educate at different salons. During this time he found he loved the education side of hair as well, and went back to teach at Paul Mitchell the school Las Vegas. During this time he met Mark Cottle and went to work with him at Kaya Beauty. After about 5 years Mark sold the salon and moved to Fort Collins, and Chet decided it was time to return to Paul Mitchell and the Kelly Cardenas salon. He got the opportunity to travel around the country and teach and live in Chicago, San Diego, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City. After finally tiring of all the travel, his wife Amanda and him moved to Key largo and owned their own salon for 4 years. When they started to miss family and the mountains, they decided to move to Reno
